Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) Protection Policies

A strategic requirement of technology customers planning to outsource their product development is the protection of their existing and new intellectual property rights (IPRs). In today’s competitive, global business environment it has become ever more important to safeguard one’s IPRs. Your potential partner’s track record and policies for safeguarding the most precious of your assets is key to the long-term success of your co-development initiative.

A decade of experience in outsourced Product Engineering services has helped us to understand the IPR protection concerns of global, technology companies like yours. Our IPR protection policies and practices, which have been fine-tuned to provide you with the comfort feel of your own operation, extend beyond operational levels.

First and foremost, we are a “pure-play” services company engaged in extending our customers’ engineering capabilities.

  • Celstream does not have any product/services related patents, copyrighted material, intellectual property (IP) or licenses of our own
  • All patents and IP that are created by Celstream are assigned to our respective customers

You can be rest assured that we are not competing with you!

Secondly, our long-term DDF (Dedicated Development Facility) engagement model has been designed to specifically address your IPR protection concerns. It allows us to deploy engineers for you on a long-term basis. This means that the knowledge of your domain and products is retained within the DDF, just like in your own operation. Besides, each customer DDF is located in physically separate facilities, with entry regulated by card-key access control only to authorized personnel.

Finally, in addition to the above, all our customers’ engagements are governed by the following IPR protection policies at the operational level:

  • Employee Education & Training - Awareness training program for our employees is frequently conducted, to ensure that they are up to-date on our IP protection policies and practices.
  • Physical Isolation - We have ensured that our facilities and networks are segregated and appropriate physical protection is given as applicable. Sensitive data is stored and secured under security.
  • Physical Access Control - Employees working on a particular project are only allowed access to their designated work/project areas.
  • Digital Security - Access to project specific information and environment is limited to only those employees authorized to be part of the program.
  • Secure Network Connectivity - We have safe and secure network connections for remote logins, cross-facility communications and Celstream-customer connectivity.
  • Building Security - Our facility has 24x7 security that patrols all places. All visitors are screened before entry into Celstream offices. Further, activity in all floors within and outside is monitored through 24-hour CCTV.
  • Employee Screening & Retention - We have tight HR screening policies for recruitment of prospective employees. Due to the high retention and long-term association of employees to our customer programs, we have been able to provide not just IPR protection but enhancements and innovations above them.
  • Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) - These exist at three levels to protect your company’s confidential information:
    • Between Celstream and your organization
    • Between Celstream and each employee
    • Additionally, between the Celstream engineer assigned to you and your organization

The above are some of the comprehensive policy-level and operational-level safeguards we undertake to ensure the safety of our customers’ IPRs. However, we are flexible in our approach and are open to discussing and undertaking additional measures depending upon your specific needs.
