Yes, you will be able to use your licensed copy of iPrintApp for your printing needs even after End of Life (October 8, 2010). However, Celstream Customer Support will respond to any inquiries only until January 15, 2011.

Listed below are typical questions and answers that will guide you through any difficulties while printing from the iPhone or iPod touch with iPrintApp:

1. What kind of printer does iPrintApp support? Is my printer supported?

iPrintApp will discover and directly print to any Postscript, PCL and PDF printer which are on the WiFi Network. Other printers can be accessed by creating a shared printer on a Macintosh or Windows PC.

2. How do I know if my printer is a Postscript or PCL or PDF printer?

To check if the printer is Postscript, PCL or PDF, print the Configuration Page from the printer's front panel. Look for the PDL or Language supported.

3. How can I install and share a printer on a Macintosh?

To install a printer on your Macintosh, follow the steps from Apple’s guide on the following link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1800

Once the printer is installed, open System Preferences and click on Print & Fax.
Select the printer you wish to print to from iPrintApp.
Set the “Share this printer” option to ON.
Go back to all preferences by clicking the “Show All” button on top of the preferences window.
  Now click on Sharing.
Set the “Printing” service to ON state.
In the list of printers, make sure that the printer you desired to share has a “ticked” box.

4. How can I install and share a printer on a Microsoft Windows system?

Refer to Microsoft’s guide to install a printer - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282842
  Share a printer - http://www.home-network-help.com/share-printer.html
Set the “Share this printer” option to ON.

5. I have a USB printer; can I print to it from iPrintApp?

Yes. On a Macintosh, follow similar steps to those mentioned in question 3 to install and share the printer. On Windows, it should automatically get installed. Also refer to Question 4 for detailed steps.

6. Can I print to an inkjet printer?

Yes, install a printer on the Windows PC or Macintosh and share it. iPrintApp will discover it and you can print to it from your iPhone or iPod touch.

7. How do I know my printer is accessible on the WiFi-network?

Open Safari on your iPhone/iPod touch and type the printer's IP address in the address bar and click go. You can get the printer's IP address from the configuration page printed using #2 above. Example: 109.56.45.3. In most cases, the printer’s web interface to its settings and features will load. If it does not, your printer may not be accessible from your iPhone/iPod touch.

8. There are many printers on the network but iPrintApp shows ‘No Printers Available’?

None of the printers will be discovered if your iPhone/iPod touch does not have an IP address. To detect the IP address, click on Settings -> WiFi->Your WiFi Network->IP Address. The iPhone/iPod touch should have a valid IP address either under DHCP, or the Static tab. Also, if your iPhone/iPod touch and your printers are not on same network, iPrintApp will fail to discover printers.

9. Though I have created a Windows Shared Printer, it is not accessible?

The discovery of printers is dynamic; check the network connections of the printer and try again. Check to make sure that the user credentials (name and password) provided are correct.

Known issue: Blank password for user credentials is not supported.

Work Around: In case your password has no characters, please provide at least 1 character in the password field.

10. My Windows PC is on the network but doesn’t list in iPrintApp.

Like printers, PC discovery is also dynamic. Just click ‘Options’ to re-initiate the discovery.

11. How do I create a WiFi-network using my Macintosh without an external router?

To get your printer discovered, you need to create a WiFi-network using Airport and add the iPhone on the same network. You can follow the steps mentioned here: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070514152251515
